CMHA Grey Bruce offers multiple programs that are aimed at increasing mental health literacy in our local children and youth. The Grey Bruce Friends and Neighbour (FAN) club program has been providing child-friendly puppet shows in schools since 2003. The program reaches thousands of primary and junior students a year. Some of the topics covered include: Building self-esteem, dealing with change, dealing with anger and other feelings, appreciating our differences, and the importance of reaching out for help. Let’s Talk is a multi-visit program for youth in Grades 5 and up covering topics such as resources, coping strategies, healthy relationships, etc. Talk Today is a partnership program with the OHL and is aimed at bringing mental health conversations into the “locker” room and high school classrooms.
